What’s Unique About OCCFA

Combining Conservation Funding with Private Equity
The OCCFA model invites investment in cooperative conservation transactions that benefit the common good of the local community and region. Conservation purchases alone may not provide sufficient capital to acquire areas of land large enough to keep entire ecosystems intact. High land values for development in Lincoln County are fractionalizing forest land making the purchase of large tracts of land urgent and invaluable. By combining conservation funding with private equity, we will be able to purchase and conserve forest land on a scale that is unattainable through conservation funding alone.
